Flood Vents
Smart Vent’s line of ICC-ES Certified, Engineered Flood Vents protect homes and buildings during floods by preventing hydrostatic pressure buildup that can destroy walls and foundations. This mitigation technique, referred to as Wet Floodproofing, allows floodwater to freely flow through an enclosure such as a crawlspace or garage. This allows the flood water to automatically enter and exit through the frame opening, relieving the pressure from the foundation walls. Certified flood debris clearance is demonstrated with a 3” diameter opening when the flood door is activated. Smart Vents are available in 5 standard colors with custom color options available.
DUAL - FUNCTION SERIES
These vents are used for a home with a crawlspace or any enclosed area that desires natural air ventilation and flood protection. A bimetal coil automatically opens and closes the ventilation louvers as temperature changes. The louvers will be fully closed at 35F° and fully open at 75F°. In the event of a flood the internal floats lift to release the flood door to rotate open and relieve the hydrostatic pressure regardless of the louvers’ position, open or closed.
INSULATED SERIES
These vents are ideal for garages or conditioned spaces where flood vents are required, but air ventilation is not desired. The flood door contains a 2” insulated core that has an R-value of 8.34. There is also a felt weather stripping that lines the entire vent frame helping to keep the enclosure as insulated as possible. Pair the Insulated Vents with the Flood Vent Sealing Kit to complete the insulated seal behind the vent opening.

Custom Multi Frame Vents
Multi-frames are ideal for commercial applications and other areas with large square footages; they give you the flood venting protection you need with fewer openings. They accommodate our dual function or insulated series of flood doors, and are manufactured in a robust
one-piece design. We offer full CAD capabilities that allow you to implement the multi-frame design easily into your project drawings. We will assist in proper vent placement and help with all phases of the project to assure the flood vent system is installed correctly and meets your specifications.
Special Application Vents
Special application vents have been developed for situations in which when our standard flood vents are not applicable. The insulated wood-wall models are designed to fit between wood studs spaced on 16-in. centers. Insulated garage door models are ideal to retrofit into an existing garage door, there are two sizes available.
Sealing Kits
The Flood Vent Sealing Kit works to create a tight, insulated seal behind the vent opening. When a flood event occurs, the precision cut engineered material is dislodged creating an unobstructed opening. This sealing kit works in conjunction with our Insulated Series and is certified to meet the stringent 2018 Energy codes.

When fully cured, this unique VOC compliant formula offers UV stability and tenacious stress free adhesion to PVC, concrete, glass, aluminum, painted surfaces, wood, plywood, marble, metal, plus many other common substrates.
