Ron Jon was built on the most popular street in Ocean City, NJ, Asbury Avenue. The surf shop fits right in with the busy beach town that has been flooded severely in the past by Hurricane Sandy. Asbury Avenue specifically has seen damage from flooding and the repercussions that came along with it. To prepare for any major flooding events that could very much happen again, the municipality increased the height of the floodproofing that was needed by 1 ft. while we were designing their floodproofing layout for them.
