Hurricane Sandy devastated the area of Lavallette, NJ, so in order to keep up with demand due to reconstruction, Lavallette Hardware needed to expand its storage space. They added a warehouse behind their existing storefront, which was wet floodproofed using SMART VENT Insulated Flood Vents. Pour-in-Place-Bucks, Fire Dampers, and Sealing Kits were also used. Since this was a substantial improvement, the existing store had to be dry floodproofed to meet code. Our team reviewed their plans and decided that ILC Dover’s Flex-Cover® was the perfect Flood Door Barrier to protect the front door, (92 in. wide x 48 in. high cover) and two interior doors (54 in. wide x 48 in. high cover) of the retail space.
