Iona McGregor Fire Department

The Iona McGregor Fire Department, located in Fort Myers, Florida, partnered with Heatherwood Construction to enhance flood protection at its facility. The project included the installation of removable Flood Shields across eight openings, including above-grade windows, single doors, and a garage opening. The garage span required kicker braces at the two vertical seams between three panels to provide additional structural reinforcement. Primed steel wall plates were designed for permanent installation and can be painted to match the building’s stucco façade. An additional barrier was later installed, bringing the total to nine removable Flood Shield barriers protecting the station. This layered approach helps ensure critical emergency services remain operational during flood events.
