Mount Royal, NJ—As flooding events become more frequent and building resilience standards evolve, Floodproofing.com introduces the Flood Panel FFD-90 Fire-Rated Flood Door Flood which is engineered to protect buildings from both flood and fire without compromising everyday functionality.
Made in the USA, the Flood Panel FFD-90 Fire-Rated Flood Door functions like a standard door but is thoroughly tested and UL-listed for a 90-minute fire rating and independently certified to ANSI/FM 2510 standards for flood protection up to eight feet of water.
According to Tom Little, President and CEO of Floodproofing.com, the door is ideal for hospitals, data centers, water treatment facilities, utility buildings, emergency operations centers, multifamily developments, schools and other critical infrastructure where dependable protection and uninterrupted operations matter most.
“Owners and designers have long faced difficult choices when selecting openings that satisfy both fire and flood requirements,” Little said. “The Flood Panel FFD-90 was engineered to simplify that decision by delivering certified performance, everyday usability and a clean architectural appearance in a single product.”
The single leaf door, which meets ADA accessibility requirements, is designed to blend seamlessly into any building façade with minimal aesthetic impact and operation that feels like a standard door. Available in standard primed gray or black if e-coated, the FFD-90 must be finished to match a wide range of architectural styles, delivering code-compliant flood protection without compromising usability.
The door comes in standard 4080 (40” x 80”) and 3070 (30” x 70”) configurations and custom sizing is available. In addition, the door is available in both flange and flange-less designs. The flange allows for an aesthetic finish while maintaining the use of standard sizes for projects where rough openings may vary slightly.
The FFD-90 includes an additional hardware cover which provides an added layer of protection for the door handle hardware, helping reduce the risk of impact damage and seepage at critical points. During independent third-party testing, the FFD-90 demonstrated seepage which was more than 80% lower than allowable seepage requirements of ANSI/FM 2510 standard of 0.08 gallons per hour.
As building owners place greater emphasis on resilient design and code-compliant flood mitigation, the FFD-90 provides architects, engineers and facility managers with a solution that integrates seamlessly into both new construction and retrofit projects.
The FFD-90 expands Floodproofing.com’s growing portfolio of code-compliant flood mitigation solutions designed to help protect commercial buildings and critical infrastructure from increasingly severe weather.
