Fenex Floodproof Windows
Fenex Floodproof Windows are passive systems that are always ready to protect from rising flood water and debris impact. They are hurricane impact-rated and tested to withstand more than 10’ of water and large missile collision. No storage, installation, or deployment needed before a flood event. Multiple framing options available as well as several shapes and sizes.

Fixed window systems take the place of heavy, deployable flood panel systems that are required when developing in a FEMA flood hazard area. Save space and peace of mind with flood resistant glazing to meet floodproofing requirements.
ASCE 24-14 allows glass curtain walls to be protected with flood barriers if they attach to substantially impermeable elements of the building. According to FEMA, though, glass curtain walls are considered “walls,” so putting a barrier system over a traditional glass window system that is not substantially impermeable would NOT be compliant and does not meet the Codes of Federal Regulations (44 CFR 60.3).
NFIP participating communities must meet the minimum FEMA requirements which would include using Floodproof Window systems that make a wall substantially impermeable.

Our Fenex floodproof window systems are tested to ANSI/FM 2510 minimum standards. For debris impact we push our testing by far exceeding the standard using a 1000 lb. projectile (10x the standard) with multiple impact points and 8 total impacts.
